H.Amdt.117 - Amendment clarifies that the state unit that serves the most individuals with disabilities will serve on the workforce investment board; makes Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) a mandatory partner in the one-stop career center system unless the Governor objects to the Secretaries of Labor and Health and Human Services; reinstates the requirement that youth providers be selected by competitive process; clarifies that state- recognized tribes may continue to participate in the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program for Native Americans; and specifies that the National Institute for Literacy is under the direction of an Interagency Group, composed of the Secretaries of Education, Labor, and Health and Human Services.
