H.Amdt.476 - Amendment grants limits on liability for actions taken by an owner, operator, time charterer, master or mariner to defend a U.S. flagged vessel against attack by pirates. Amendment also requires the Secretary of the department which oversees the Coast Guard to work through the International Maritime Organization to establish agreements to promote coordinated action among flag- and port-states to protect against piracy.
