AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; requiring operators of commercial motor vehicles to demonstrate proficiency in the English language; prohibiting operators of commercial motor vehicles who cannot demonstrate English language proficiency from operating commercial motor vehicles as specified; providing criminal penalties; providing definitions; making conforming amendments; and providing for an effective date. This act prohibits operators of commercial motor vehicles from operating a commercial motor vehicle within Wyoming if the operator is unable to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This act imposes a fine of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) on any operator of a commercial motor vehicle who violates the English language proficiency requirement and prohibits the operator from operating a commercial motor vehicle until the operator is able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This act subjects any operator of a commercial motor vehicle who operates a commercial motor vehicle under the imposed prohibition to a misdemeanor and a fine of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). This act authorizes the Wyoming Highway Patrol Division, any other enforcement officers designated by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, and any peace officer of any county or municipality to enforce the provisions of this act and issue citations for any violations.
