AN ACT relating to compensation and benefits; providing a monthly death benefit for specified law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty; specifying applicability; and providing for an effective date. This act provides for a death benefit available to the surviving spouses of law enforcement officers of the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, persons designated as capitol police, and special agents employed by the Division of Criminal Investigation of the Attorney General's Office who are sworn peace officers, who are killed in the line of duty. The benefit is ninety percent (90%) of the officer's salary, plus six percent (6%) of salary for each child under the age of eighteen (18).
