(a) AuthorizationThe Secretary, in cooperation with the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is authorized to participate in the planning, design, and construction of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Area Water Reclamation and Reuse Project to reclaim and reuse industrial and municipal wastewater and reclaim and use naturally impaired ground water and nonpotable surface water in the Albuquerque metropolitan area.
(b) Cost shareThe Federal share of the cost of a project described in subsection (a) shall not exceed 25 percent of the total cost.
(c) LimitationThe Secretary shall not provide funds for the operation or maintenance of a project described in subsection (a).

L. 105–62, which directed the amendment of “section 1621 of title XVI of the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Act, Public Law 104–266”, was executed by making the amendment to this section, which is section 1621 of title XVI of the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act, Pub. L. 102–575, as added by Pub. L. 104–266, to reflect the probable intent of Congress.
Amendments1997—Pub. L. 105–62, § 506(1), which directed the substitution of “project” for “study” in section catchline, was executed by substituting “Project” for “Study” to reflect the probable intent of Congress.
Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 105–62, § 506(2), (3), inserted “planning, design, and construction of the” after “to participate in the” and “and nonpotable surface water” after “impaired ground water”.
