A certificate of registry as a medical doctor or professional nurse may be issued only to an applicant who has a license as a medical doctor or registered nurse, respectively, issued by a State. (Pub. L. 98–89, Aug. 26, 1983, 97 Stat. 540.) Historical and Revision Notes Revised sectionSource section (U.S. Code) 710446:243 Section 7104 requires an applicant for a certificate of registry as a medical doctor or professional nurse to have, as a prerequisite, a license as a medical doctor or registered nurse issued by a State.
