An officer in the executive branch and an officer of the government of the District of Columbia to whom subchapter I of chapter 63 of this title applies are not entitled to the pay of their offices solely because of their status as officers. The words “including an officer of a corporation wholly owned or controlled by the United States” are omitted as unnecessary in view of the definition of “officer” in section 2104. Standard changes are made to conform with the definitions applicable and the style of this title as outlined in the preface to the report.
