The Winner
If you live in Utah's 2nd U.S. House District, you will now be represented in Congress by Blake Moore (R-UT), who has been declared the winner of the 2026 congressional race, according to the Associated Press.
The AP called the race on Nov. 5; vote counts are still being tallied, and the general-election stage shows no certified totals, so the figures below are preliminary. The seat stays in Republican hands, filling the vacancy left when incumbent Celeste Maloy did not seek re-election in 2026.
The Race
Democrat Peter Crosby advanced through the June 23 Democratic primary, running unopposed, to reach the general election ballot. Inside Elections rated the seat Solid Republican heading into Election Day; Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball each rated it Solid Republican as well, according to the race record as of Nov. 3.
Utah's 2nd Congressional District has a total population of about 852,400 residents, a median household income of about $86,300, and a median age of about 34, according to geographic data for the district.
About 33.7 percent of adults hold a bachelor's degree or higher; the district's population is about 74.4 percent white, 19.6 percent Hispanic, 2.8 percent Asian, and 1.5 percent Black, with an unemployment rate of about 3.9 percent and about 9.7 percent of residents living below the poverty line.
