Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R) won Tennessee's 3rd U.S. House District race on Nov. 3, and the Associated Press called it at 10:40 p.m. that night. Fleischmann (R) has been named the winner of Tennessee's 3rd U.S. House District, but the general election count is still underway and not yet certified, and no total vote count is available.

Fleischmann is the incumbent, having won the seat in 2024, and he ran unopposed in the 2026 Republican primary. His Democratic opponent, Anna Golladay, reached the general election ballot by winning the Aug. 6 Democratic primary with roughly 79.6 percent of the vote, defeating Bryan Martin by about 20,609 votes out of 34,841 cast.

The Race

The general election ballot lists nine candidates from the Democratic, Independent and Republican parties, and no general-election vote totals are available yet. Cook Political Report rated the seat Solid Republican heading into Election Day, and both Inside Elections and Sabato's Crystal Ball agreed, each rating it Solid or Safe Republican.

According to Geographies data, the district has about 788,600 residents, a median household income of about $69,800, a median age of about 40.9, and roughly 29 percent of adults hold a bachelor's degree or higher.

What's Next

Fleischmann is set to take office on Jan. 3, 2027. Energy is his signature congressional issue: The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported on Oct. 17, based on an interview with Fleischmann, that he has focused on funding for the Department of Energy and promoting energy projects in his district.
