The Vote
One of the busiest federal districts in the country will soon have a new judge. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) voted on June 24 to confirm John George Edward Marck as judge to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Marck is known for his position as former Assistant District Attorney in New York City, and as a prosecutor of cases involving illegal reentry after deportation and cartel-related crimes. The Senate confirmation vote fell almost entirely along party lines, and the nomination passed.

- Democrats: 0 Yes, 43 No, 2 not voting
- Independents: 0 Yes, 2 No
Hawley voted yes, in line with his party. He has represented Missouri in the Senate since 2019 and was reelected in 2024. Hawley has missed 37 votes this Congress, and five since April.
