What They Stand For

Jenkins' campaign describes him as a retired Army colonel and former Shawnee City Council member. He has proposed cutting federal spending, balancing the budget, lowering taxes, supporting affordable energy, and securing the border, according to his campaign website.

Davids is the incumbent, currently serving Kansas's 3rd District and seeking re-election. Her official House biography describes her as a former attorney who served as a White House Fellow at the Department of Transportation. Davids won the Democratic primary on Aug. 4, with 83 percent of the vote.

She has supported lowering healthcare and prescription-drug costs and strengthening the Affordable Care Act and has proposed expanding Medicaid, which her campaign says could provide coverage to 165,000 Kansans, according to her campaign priorities page.
