The incumbent Republican, Adrian Smith, dominated the Republican primary with 63.8% of the votes, crushing challenger David Huebner's 36.2% On the Democratic side, Becky Stille claimed her party's nomination uncontested. Three other candidates—David J. Else, Macey Budke and Mark Cohen—are also on the ballot, making for a crowded November matchup in a deep-red district.
