Democrat Frank Pallone and Republican Hillary Herzig will face off in the general election for New Jersey's 6th U.S. House District.
Pallone won the certified Democratic primary with 65.65% (32,761 votes) out of 49,902 votes; John Hsu received 13,304 and Katie Bansil 3,837.
Herzig ran unopposed in the Republican primary.
What They Stand For
Pallone's campaign highlights affordable health care and his work to protect the New Jersey coast from offshore oil and gas drilling. He also emphasizes work with seniors on Medicare and Medicaid.
Herzig supports legal immigration and naturalization through established channels. On health care, Herzig backs value-based mental-health treatment and insurance-covered alternatives such as holistic and chiropractic care.
Herzig supports ending federal penalties for lawful cannabis use, saying patients, veterans and small-business owners should not be punished for following state law. She calls for safe streets while opposing a surveillance state, and points to her local roots, including attending the district's schools.

The data show $10 in outside spending supporting Pallone, with Sierra Club Independent Action making the sole reported expenditure; Republican-party and opposition totals are unavailable, not confirmed at zero.
Race Outlook: Ratings and Betting Markets
Cook (Sept. 25), Sabato (Sept. 22), Inside Elections (Sept. 17) and the Sept. 28 consensus all rate the race Solid Democratic. As of Sept. 29, Kalshi put Democrats at 97.78% and Republicans at 2.22%, with volume of 1,068.
Democrats won 8 of New Jersey's 12 House races in 2022 and 10 in 2024. Democrat Andy Kim won New Jersey's 2024 Senate race with 53.611% of the vote. In 2024, Kamala Harris won New Jersey with 51.974% of the vote.
Pallone won New Jersey's 6th U.S. House District with 57.451% in 2022 and won again in 2024 with 56.07%.
