Who's In the Race

Republican Jim Jordan and Democrat Joshua Kolasinski face each other in Ohio's 4th U.S. House District. Jordan, the incumbent, advanced through the Republican primary uncontested on May 5.

What They Stand For

Jordan's campaign says he stands for "freedom, small government and … conservative values and capitalism." He also backed an Ohio constitutional amendment that would have required voter approval before taxes or spending could be raised beyond set limits, according to his campaign website.

Kolasinski says housing, gasoline, healthcare, education, and food should be affordable for everyone in the district, according to his campaign website. He says he is running as a Democrat because ordinary people need to be heard, and pledges to be free from the influence of Washington elites and billionaires.

The Money Behind the Race

Ohio outside spending in the 4th District race totals $1,705, all of it directed toward Republican candidates and all of it in support.

Race Outlook: Ratings and Betting Markets

Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections all rate the race "Solid Republican," as of Sept. 25, Sept. 29, and Sept. 17, respectively. On Kalshi, the prediction market put the Republican's probability of winning at 94 percent as of Oct. 2, against about six percent for the Democrat.

Jordan carried the district with about 69 percent of the vote in 2022 and again with about 68 percent in 2024. In the 2024 presidential race, Republican Donald J. Trump carried Ohio with about 55 percent of the vote.
