Who's In the Race

Republican Mark Lamb won his party's July 21 primary, and Democrat Elizabeth Lee won hers, setting up a general election face-off for Arizona's 5th U.S. House District. The seat is open since incumbent Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is not seeking reelection, and the general election will take place on November 3.

What They Stand For

Lamb, running on a platform aligned with President Donald Trump's "America First" movement, opposes defunding the police and opposes abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and supports securing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Lee, a Democrat, supports affordable healthcare, Medicare expansion, and lower prescription-drug costs, according to her campaign website. She also supports reproductive freedom, fully funded public schools, workers' rights, and an economy that benefits working-class people.

The Money Behind the Race

Arizona outside spending in the 5th District totals $348,210, all of it directed toward Republican candidates. Every dollar of that spending supports candidates rather than opposing them.

Win It Back PAC leads all outside spenders with $251,228.50, accounting for nearly three-quarters of the total. God Family Freedom PAC spent $72,150 across six records. Club for Growth PAC spent $18,137, House Freedom Action spent $4,944, and Freedom Caucus Fund spent $1,751, according to the records. The committee leaderboard reflects total spending amounts and does not indicate direction.
