The Race
After the primary elections on June ninth, the matchup for South Carolina's first congressional district is set: Republican Jenny Honeycutt faces Democrat Nancy Lacore in the general election on November third.
Ratings
The Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections all agree on their predictions for the district. The Cook Political Report rated the race as Likely Republican as of June 18; Sabato's Crystal Ball and Inside Elections both called it Solid Republican in early June. That consensus means Republicans have a meaningful advantage, but Democrats aren't mathematically eliminated.
Prediction Markets
Betting markets are putting their money where the experts' mouths are. As of July 29, Kalshi prediction markets gave Republicans a 78% chance of taking the district.
