What Happened?

A political group with ties to President Donald Trump has poured more than $154 million into U.S. Senate and House races this election cycle, targeting competitive seats across five states.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC), the agency that tracks money in federal elections, shows No Going Back PAC Inc. recorded $154.64 million in outside spending as of Oct. 9, 2026. A super PAC is a political committee that can raise and spend unlimited money but cannot give directly to a candidate. It spent that money on ads and mail opposing or supporting specific candidates.

OpenSecrets described the PAC as "President Donald Trump-linked and MAGA Inc.-funded," and the New York Times reported, citing two people, that it was financially backed by MAGA Inc.

Why Does it Matter to Me?

No Going Back PAC Inc. has spent money opposing candidates in races in Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and Florida.

Both Sides, Now

The group's website describes it as making independent expenditures in U.S. federal elections, but it does not lay out a broader mission or policy agenda. Critics argue that unlimited outside money from groups with opaque funding sources drowns out ordinary voters and distorts elections.

FactCheck.org reported on Oct. 9 that a No Going Back PAC ad attacked El-Sayed over past comments on policing and prisons, including a claim that his "plan" was to "commute sentences for murderers and rapists."

The PAC's website says it makes independent expenditures in U.S. federal elections but does not spell out a broader policy agenda. Super PACs operate under FEC rules without a congressional vote and have not sought congressional approval for their spending.

What Happens Next?

The Senate races in Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, and New Hampshire remain rated as competitive, and spending could climb before polls close.
