Who's In the Race

Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District seat is open for 2026, paving the way for a face off between Republican incumbent Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI) and Democratic challenger Andrew Beck in the Nov. 3 general election.

Fitzgerald has represented the district since 2021, after serving in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021. Beck was born and raised in Milwaukee, with roots in Wisconsin's labor movement. His career includes work as a sales manager and MRI technologist.

What They Stand For

Fitzgerald has proposed securing the border and ending what he calls "D.C.'s reckless spending," according to his campaign website. He also opposes a government-run healthcare system, arguing it would worsen existing problems in healthcare, according to his official House website.

Beck has proposed fighting to "stop Trump's radical agenda" and safeguard democracy, according to his campaign website. He's also supported defending women's healthcare rights, lowering costs and strengthening good-paying jobs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, andimproving access to affordable healthcare.
