The corporation is organized,and shall be operated, exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, and to carry out the purposes of, one or more charitable organizations that promote the advancement of medicine, engage in medical and scientific research and promote public education related to the foregoing and that have been recognized by the internal revenue service as organizations described in section 501(c)(3) and as organizations described in either section 509(a)(1) or section 509(a)(2) of the internal revenue code.
