ASYV was formed exclusively for charitable, educational, religious, and literary purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended. In furtherance of such purposes, ASYV works to support public education about the events of the holocaust and other activities serving as a memorial to the victims of the holocaust, including by distributing funds to support programs and projects of YAD vashem, the world holocaust remembrance center.
