The houston livestock show and rodeo educational fund (the "educational fund") was incorporated under the LAWS of the state of texas in JUNE 1988 and was granted TAX exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code in april 1989. The educational fund was organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, including the distribution of scholarships, grants and awards to students and organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The educational fund was initially funded by the houston livestock show and rodeo, INC. In JUNE 1989. The funds of the educational fund are used exclusively in furtherance of the exempt purpose of the organization and to meet necessary expenses for its upkeep and operations.
