The international anesthesia research society (IARS) is a nonpolitical, not-for-profit medical society founded in 1922 to advance and support scientific research and education related to anesthesia and the improvement of patient care through research. IARS contributes nearly $1 million annually to fund anesthesia research and maintains a worldwide membership of physicians, healthcare professionals, fellows, residents, students and others within anesthesia-related practice. The IARS provides forums for members to share information and exchange ideas and support high-quality clinical discussions. These forums include an annual scientific educational meeting, an online member community, monthly webinars and a monthly print and online PEER-reviewed journal, anesthesia & analgesia, and the clinical online companion journal, A&A practice, for the global anesthesiology community. ALL activities are designed to advance the specialty.
