The novant health network consists of more than 1,800 physicians and over 35,000 team members that provide care at nearly 800 locations, including 15 medical centers and hundreds of outpatient facilities and physician clinics. General information novant health medical group is a physician-LED organization comprised of over 1,800 physicians and advanced practice clinicians at more than 700 clinic locations throughout north carolina and south carolina. The medical group continued to see growth in its digital efforts by expanding its mychart users from 2 million to 2.5 million. Medical group physician specialists have advanced training in areas such as cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, pediatrics, neurology, orthopedics, otolaryngology (i.e., EAR, NOSE and throat disorders) and many more. We lead the country in our focus on patient safety in a medical group setting. Community outreach community outreach is a critical component to the mission of novant health medical group. Novant health provides hundreds of programs that serve patients, neighbors and some of our communities' most vulnerable citizens. We also provide charity medical care for the uninsured, services to individuals with medicaid coverage reimbursed at less than cost, community health education, medical services that lose money but are important for the community, support groups, outreach services, community events and screenings. In addition, we participate in medical research, academic health programs and partnerships with a diverse group of organizations to provide other community initiatives. The green street clinic and community care clinic in winston-salem, NC is just one example of the free clinics supported by novant health medical group physicians, advanced practice clinicians and nurses. The novant health foundation has granted funds to expand behavioral health services to patients at the community care clinic through telemedicine. Novant health and movement mortgage have a primary care medical care clinic in charlotte. The movement family wellness center powered by novant health provides preventive and primary care in addition to behavioral health services. Novant health has a partnership with the hope community clinic of EAST charlotte. This clinic serves families in at-risk neighborhoods and novant health providers are available for appointments three DAYS a week, offering immunizations, checkups and other crucial services. We are also working to improve health and wellness throughout the community. By offering free health screenings, physicians, nurses and advanced practice clinicians are educating the community about prediabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. Additionally, novant health medical group team members serve as team physicians at local schools, participate in mission trips to areas where medical care is often not available and serve on boards and committees of community health organizations. Awards, recognitions & certifications/recertifications 117 novant health family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics clinics are recognized as patient-centered medical homes (PCMH) by the national committee for quality assurance (NCQA). In the medical home model, novant health primary care physicians lead other team members in their roles to ensure that patients get appropriate care at the right place and right time to support their optimal health. The model also helps ensure coordinated care with specialists, improved access to care using technology, and a patient-provider relationship that keeps patients and their families actively involved in their health.
