The foundation is an advocate for successful performance by: - positioning texas TECH university system as an institution of distinction; - raising funds on behalf of the universities and health sciences centers; - stewardship of funds, caring for donors, and reporting on gifts and endowments; - a partnership approach with the board of regents on investment and oversight; - and supporting and promoting ALL colleges, school programs, and campuses of the texas TECH university system. The foundation was formed to seek and obtain gifts for the institutions; to receive, hold, invest, and administer property of ANY type given to the institutions or for the benefit of the institutions; and to make expenditures to or for the benefit of the institutions.
This 501(c)(3) elected the 501(h) safe-harbor — lobbying expenditures are capped under a clear dollar formula instead of the "insubstantial part" standard.
