Mission statement support of the law enforcement and firefighting agencies in austin, brazoria, brazos, burleson, chambers, colorado, fayette, FORT BEND, galveston, grimes, harris, liberty, madison, montgomery, SAN jacinto, walker, waller, and washington counties, including the provision of financial support to the families of peace officers or firefighters who have lost their lives or were seriously injured in the line of DUTY; the purchase of life-saving and special needs equipment such as bullet-proof vests and other life protecting equipment; the funding of training workshops; the donation of funds to peace officers for college scholarships; the provision of benefits to families of peace officers with the texas department of public safety, the texas alcoholic beverage commission, the texas parks and wildlife department, texas department of corrections and texas south western cattle ranger association who lost their lives or were seriously injured in the line of DUTY anywhere in the state of texas; and the provision of benefits to the families of peace officers and firefighters who have lost their lives or were seriously injured in the line of DUTY in the following additional counties: angelina, houston, jasper, LEE, LEON, nacogdoches, newton, POLK, robertson, sabine, SAN augustine, shelby, trinity, and tyler.
