The american FARM school of thessaloniki, greece (the "school") offers several levels of education for students including PRE-kindergarten, a kindergarten, a primary school, a middle school, a high school, and perrotis college. The school also maintains a significant educational and research FARM operation. Some of these schools are organized as greek corporations and some, including the educational FARM, are organized as a u.s. Corporation in the state of new YORK. Founded in 1904 by american educators, the school today is considered the premier institution in southeastern europe for education in these areas. At the heart of an american FARM school education is the institution's diversified research, demonstration and training FARM that serves/functions as a living laboratory for students of ALL AGES to experience hands-on discovery, engagement and inquiry in the life sciences. Legal description and organization: the school is an independent, private, NON-profit CO-educational institution, registered as a 501(c)(3) in the state of new YORK. The school is governed by a board of trustees of up to 36 americans and greeks who are responsible for setting policy, monitoring program progress, stewardship of assets, and securing financial resources. The institution's field operations are located in thessaloniki, greece. Under its umbrella, a wide range of educational programs, from PRE-k through undergraduate and graduate studies, are offered. Following changes in the regulatory framework of private colleges in greece, a not-for profit association, under the name of "american FARM school post-secondary educational and training association" was founded in 2008 in thessaloniki to establish and operate a private college under the commercial name perrotis college. Perrotis college, offers b.SC. Degrees in the fields of sustainable agriculture and management, international business, food science and technology, digital marketing and environmental science as well as m.SC. Degrees in the fields of new food product & business development, marketing for the AGRO - food sector and sustainable agriculture and management. The college is accredited by the new england commission of higher education in the u.s., and cardiff metropolitan university. In addition, perrotis college operates a two-year vocational training program and a life-long learning department offering adult education seminars and professional training to farmers and AGRO-food employees. It also operates a center for agricultural entrepreneurship and an olive center and participates in a significant number of state and privately sponsored projects related mainly to AGRO food training and consultation. During fiscal year 2023, perrotis college served more than 1,800 people including students, participants in the adult education seminars and business training programs as well as beneficiaries impacted from the implementation of funded projects. In 1996, the "perrotis college endowment" ("dpcas endowment") was initiated by contributions in support of the establishment of a post-secondary division at the american FARM school. It is maintained in the u.s. And is overseen by the institution's investment committee. The dpcas endowment is permanently restricted in its exclusive use to perrotis college. This endowment constitutes part of the american FARM school's investments in the u.s. As of JUNE 30, 2023, the fair value of the dpcas related investments amounted to us$ 18.6 million. The american FARM school maintains majority voting interest in perrotis college which has remained for ALL purposes under the american FARM school umbrella under the governance of the perrotis college's council for organization and governance, the members of which include: the chair and VICE-chair of the american FARM school's board, EX-officio, the and chair of each of the legal, finance, audit and investment committees and the higher education committee. From a financial perspective, perrotis college is considered an affiliate to the american FARM school and as such is consolidated in the institution's field operations consolidated financial statements. The association of experiential learning schools of thessaloniki in fy2012, the institution formed the association of experiential learning schools of thessaloniki, which consisted of a nursery, a kindergarten as well as an elementary school, and a middle school, focusing on environmental education and experiential learning. During fiscal year 2023, the schools served a total of 624 students. In the same fiscal year, and following the necessary permit obtained by the supervising state authority, the AFS administration decided to operate the nursery under the legal entity of the american FARM school (AFS). As such, ALL 69 students along with 11 staff members were transferred from the association of experiential learning schools of thessaloniki to the AFS. The financial impact of this move is an increase of the AFS revenues and expenditures by $381k and $315k respectively. The institution maintains majority voting interest in the association of experiential learning schools of thessaloniki which has remained for ALL purposes under the american FARM school umbrella under the governance of the primary, secondary, finance, and audit committees of the american FARM school's board. From a financial perspective, the association of experiential learning schools of thessaloniki is considered an affiliate of the american FARM school and, as such, is consolidated in the institution's field operations consolidated financial statements.
