The agency was formed in 1965 by the parents of children with special needs from WEST, EAST and central contra costa county. Since its inception, contra costa ARC has emphasized parent and family support while providing direct services and advocacy for children and adults of ALL AGES with intellectual and other developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and other neurological conditions. Contra costa ARC works to enhance and enrich the lives of every individual served so that they CAN achieve their personal goals, realize their dreams, and participate fully in community life. Contra costa ARC strives to consistently provide high quality, cost effective services. For over 50 years we have also worked to demonstrate a commitment to corporate integrity making us worthy of the continued confidence and financial support we receive through public funds and from private individuals, groups, foundations that recognize the importance of our mission.
