Garret Nelson is an American Republican politician serving in the Alaska House of Representatives from the 29th district. He was appointed by Governor Mike Dunleavy on December 24, 2025, and sworn in on December 30, replacing George Rauscher, who had been appointed to the Alaska Senate. Born in 1984, he holds a degree from the University of Idaho and has worked as a cattle rancher, welder, small business owner, and salesman.
