David Anthony Tarnas is an American politician serving as the Democratic member of the Hawaii State House of Representatives for District 8. He previously represented Kohala and Kona in the state house from 1994 to 1998, then returned to the legislature by winning the District 7 seat, defeating incumbent Democrat Cindy Evans in the 2018 primary after an earlier unsuccessful bid against her in 2016. He has since won reelection in 2020 and 2022, chairing the Water, Land & Hawaiian Affairs Committee from 2021 to 2022 and the Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs Committee in 2023.…
