Condemns the attack on the United Nations/African Union Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID) peacekeepers and expresses condolences to the people of Rwanda, Ghana, and Uganda, and to the families and friends of those killed and wounded. Calls for the responsible parties responsible to be brought to justice. Expresses: (1) commitment to the Darfuri people; and (2) support for UNAMID. Deplores the efforts of the Khartoum regime to obstruct the deployment of a credible peacekeeping force. Urges the President, the Department of State, and the international community to make appropriate efforts to provide necessary resources. Calls upon the involved parties to find a political solution to the crisis in Darfur.
