ASSUMING FIRST SPONSORSHIP - Mr. Johnson (GA) asked unanimous consent that he may hereafter be considered as the first sponsor of H.R. 1960, a bill originally introduced by Representative Slaughter of New York, for the purpose of adding cosponsors and requesting reprintings under clause 7 of rule XII. Supreme Court Ethics Act of 2017
The bill requires the Supreme Court to promulgate a code of ethics for the Justices of the Supreme Court that shall include the five canons of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges adopted by the Judicial Conference of the United States, with any amendments or modifications that the Supreme Court determines appropriate.
