TPS Process Reform Act
This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act with respect to the extension of temporary protected status (TPS) designations, which permits eligible nationals of designated counties affected by armed conflict or natural disasters to temporarily reside and work in the United States.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) shall extend TPS status for 6 months for a country that continues to meet designation criteria, or at its discretion, extend such designation for 12 or 18 months.
A TPS country's status is terminated if DOJ fails to extend an expiring designation.
