Intercountry Adoption Information Act of 2018
(Sec. 2) This bill amends the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000 to direct the Department of State to include in its annual intercountry adoptions report to Congress information on:
countries that have a law or policy that prevented or prohibited adoptions of children by American parents regardless of whether the adoptions occurred under The Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption [Hague Adoption Convention]; the implementation date of any such law or policy; State Department efforts to encourage the resumption of halted or stalled adoptions involving U.S. immigration; and State Department actions that prevented, prohibited, or halted such adoptions. The State Department shall make the report publicly available on its website, but must avoid disclosing any personally identifiable information relating to U.S. citizens or their adoptees.
