Customer Online Notification for Stopping Edge-provider Network Transgressions or the CONSENT Act This bill directs the Federal Trade Commission to establish certain privacy protections for customers of online edge providers (e.g., search engines, streaming services, and social-media platforms), including by requiring such providers to notify customers about the collection, use, and sharing of personal information; obtain opt-in consent to use, share, or sell customers' personal information; develop certain data-security practices; and notify customers in the event of a security breach.
