Referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
Greater Leadership Overseas for the Benefit of Equality Act of 2018 or the GLOBE Act of 2018
This bill directs the Department of State to include information about the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) individuals in its annual report on human rights in foreign countries. The bill also contains other provisions to protect LGBTI rights, including provisions barring foreign individuals who commit serious human rights violations against LGBTI individuals from entering the United States.
