Referred to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and in addition to the Committees on the Judiciary, and Science, Space, and Technology, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
Training Highly Skilled Americans Act of 2018
This bill imposes an additional fee on employers applying for or extending an H-1B visa, which are for temporary foreign workers in positions that require highly specialized knowledge. The collected funds shall go into the STEM Education and Training Account, to be used to strengthen U.S. education in science, technology, engineering, and math.
