Contaminant and Lead Electronic Accounting and Reporting Requirements (CLEARR) for Drinking Water Act of 2019
This bill generally revises provisions related to drinking water quality standards. Specifically, the bill
provides for additional inspections of a public water system after certain standards violations; requires notification to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health agencies of serious standards violations; reauthorizes through FY2024 a grant program to assist the public water systems of disadvantaged and underserved communities to comply with drinking water requirements; and allows for grants to community organizations that provide education to minority, tribal, and low-income communities regarding drinking water contaminants.
