Secure Our Transit Systems from Chinese Interference Act
This bill eliminates the temporary exemption to certification requirements for the procurement of rail rolling stock for use in public transportation with respect to contracts between public transportation agencies and certain rolling stock manufacturers. Such manufacturers include ones that are owned or controlled by, are a subsidiary of, or otherwise are related legally or financially to a corporation based in a country that (1) is identified as a nonmarket economy country, (2) was identified by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) as a foreign country included on the priority watch list, and (3) is subject to monitoring by the USTR.
