This bill establishes the Invasive Species Strike Team Program within the Department of the Interior to rapidly identify and respond to invasive species threatening federal wildlife refuges and other protected lands. The program would create trained rapid response teams in each U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service region, equipped with specialized training in invasive species management and incident response, while also standardizing how invasive species data is collected and shared across multiple federal and state databases. The Secretary of the Interior is authorized to provide financial assistance, technical support, and contracts to federal, state, local, tribal governments, and private organizations working on invasive species management in or near wildlife refuges. The bill requires annual reports to Congress assessing progress on eradicating priority invasive species and authorizes $15 million per year in funding for fiscal years 2025 through 2029 to support the program's operations.
