Additionally, the bill expands existing provisions to allow Foreign Service members posted anywhere in the United States or abroad to terminate residential leases, motor vehicle leases, and telephone service contracts without penalty when relocating for assignments. This legislation aims to reduce financial and bureaucratic burdens on diplomatic families whose careers require frequent moves between different jurisdictions.
