Motion to discharge Senate Committee on Foreign Relations rejected by Yea-Nay Vote. 18 - 79. Record Vote Number: 292. (consideration: CR S6653-6665)
This joint resolution would block a proposed military sale to Israel of approximately 32,700 rounds of 120mm tank ammunition and related support services. The sale, which was submitted to Congress in September 2024 under the Arms Export Control Act, includes high-explosive tank rounds along with ammunition canisters, technical documentation, engineering support, and logistics assistance. Senators Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch, Jeff Merkley, and Brian Schatz introduced the resolution to prevent the transaction from proceeding. If passed, the resolution would prohibit the Defense Department from completing this particular weapons sale to the Israeli government. The bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations for consideration.
