Referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
This joint resolution would block a proposed military sale to the United Arab Emirates involving advanced American weapons systems. Specifically, it would prohibit the sale of 1,554 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System missiles packaged in 259 pods and 203 Army Tactical Missiles, which the U.S. Department of Defense had proposed under a formal transmittal to Congress. The resolution was submitted by Representative Jacobs in November 2024 and referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Congress has the authority under the Arms Export Control Act to disapprove foreign military sales through this type of joint resolution. If passed, this would prevent the delivery of these long-range missile systems to the UAE government.
