This bill requires health insurance plans to allow people to get a full year's supply of contraceptives in a single fill or refill, with no out-of-pocket costs. The requirement applies to all group health plans offered by employers and to both group and individual health insurance policies sold in the market. The bill takes effect for insurance plans beginning on or after January 1, 2024. Within 90 days of the bill's enactment, the federal health and labor departments must inform healthcare providers and patients about this new contraceptive coverage benefit.
