This bill requires the Department of Homeland Security to submit regular reports to Congress on individuals with suspected terrorist ties who are encountered at U.S. borders or ports of entry. Starting within 14 days of the bill's enactment, DHS must submit monthly reports for the first year, then switch to a biannual schedule, with coordination from the Attorney General and Director of National Intelligence. Each report must detail the number of individuals found in the terrorist screening database, their nations of origin, criminal histories, terrorist organization ties, detention status and whereabouts, and how they traveled to the border. The bill also requires information on why individuals were added to or removed from the database and whether any were falsely identified. Reports will be submitted in unclassified form whenever possible, though DHS can classify sensitive portions if necessary to protect national security.
