The PRICE Act requires third-party delivery platforms like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub to follow transparent pricing practices when charging customers for food and goods delivery. Starting 90 days after the bill becomes law, these platforms must display the restaurant's actual item prices and delivery fees clearly throughout the ordering process, calculate delivery fees based only on order total and delivery distance rather than customer characteristics, and provide customers with detailed explanations of all fees before charging them. The bill affects delivery platforms and the restaurants and consumers who use them. The Federal Trade Commission will enforce the law and can issue regulations to clarify requirements, while state attorneys general can also bring civil lawsuits against platforms that violate the rules and seek damages on behalf of residents.
