If multiple higher-paying localities exist within that 200-mile radius, officers would receive the pay rate of whichever locality offers the highest compensation. The bill would apply to all Bureau of Prisons employees including both salaried and prevailing wage workers, and the changes would take effect 180 days after the bill becomes law.
