This bill requires the Attorney General to submit three comprehensive reports to Congress within nine months of enactment examining violence against law enforcement officers and officer wellness. The first report must analyze violent attacks on police, including ambush incidents, federal and state responses, training programs, and the effectiveness of protective gear distribution. The second report must study whether new data collection categories should be added to federal crime reporting systems to track non-lethal aggressive incidents against officers that currently go unreported. The third report must assess the mental health and wellness resources available to law enforcement officers at all government levels and identify any gaps in mental health services. The bill directs the Attorney General to work with the FBI and National Institute of Justice while consulting with federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement agencies and relevant organizations throughout the process.
