# Invest in Child Safety Act of 2024 This bill creates a new Office to Enforce and Protect Against Child Sexual Exploitation within the Department of Justice, headed by a Director who reports to the Associate Attorney General. The Director will coordinate federal efforts across multiple agencies and departments, develop an enforcement and protection strategy, and manage a $5 billion fund established for fiscal years 2024 through 2033 to combat child sexual exploitation. The Director must meet strict qualifications including experience prosecuting federal child sexual exploitation crimes and managing large organizations. The bill allocates specific funding amounts over ten years to various federal programs and organizations, including $100 million annually to U.S. Attorneys offices for prosecutions, $20 million to the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children, $15 million to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and $60 million for Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces. The Director may also make additional grants and transfer funds to state and local governments, nonprofits, and federal agencies for victim treatment services, prevention programs, and mental health support in schools. The legislation modernizes the CyberTipline by requiring technology companies to provide more detailed information when reporting child exploitation material and extending the preservation period for reported content from 90 to 180 days. The Director must submit annual reports to Congress and appear before the Judiciary committees each year to discuss progress. The bill also requires a study on prevention programs and a Government Accountability Office report documenting all federal spending on child sexual exploitation prevention and treatment.
