Summary

Highlight any text to annotate
This bill allows representatives from veterans service organizations to give presentations during the military's Transition Assistance Program, which helps service members prepare to leave the armed forces. The presentations would inform departing soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines about veteran benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs. These presentations must be standardized, approved by the VA Secretary, limited to one hour, and presented by nationally recognized or authorized state and local representatives of veterans organizations, but cannot encourage service members to join any particular organization. The VA Secretary must submit Congress with an annual report detailing which organizations gave presentations, how many military members attended, and any recommendations for changes to the program.
