This bill requires the Small Business Administration to publish detailed annual reports on federal contracting programs for three groups of small businesses: those owned by women, those located in economically distressed HUBZone areas, and those owned by service-disabled veterans. For each group, the SBA must report data such as how many businesses applied for and received certification, how much money in federal contracts they were awarded, how many businesses were found ineligible or decertified after compliance reviews, and how many contracts may have been awarded incorrectly. These reports must go to the Senate and House Small Business Committees within one year of the bill becoming law and every year after that. The legislation is aimed at increasing transparency and oversight of programs meant to help these groups compete for federal contracts, while also making a minor technical correction to existing law. The bill specifies that no additional federal funding is authorized to carry out these new reporting requirements.
